The art studio runs a series of craft camps for children between the ages of 5 and 10 as well specialist camps for older children. The camps are held in our beautiful purpose built studio space with outdoor courtyard. They are run during the February mid-term break, the first week of the Easter holidays and for 2/3 weeks during the summer, usually July.
Often the camps will be themed for a particular time of year, the variety of different crafts and art projects is endless. The art studio will strive to ensure that a child will not repeat projects they have completed during a previous camp.

Indulge your child’s imagination and immerse them into the fantasy world of puppetry.
Students spend the week making and using a wide variety of puppets, including, finger puppets, hand puppets, pop-up puppets and marionettes (string puppets). A wide variety of different art materials and techniques are used, including designing, drawing, clay, papier-mache, painting and working with material and yarn. The course will also include a session in puppet stage design and construction, as well as guiding the children in the performance of a short puppet show of their own.
The children will design, create and construct a sculpture using found organic materials combined with traditional art materials.
Let your child benefit from the experience of creating a unique piece of sculpture within a group and the joy of seeing their creation exhibited to the pubic. All decisions and creations are made in collaboration thereby teaching children to use their creative skills in a team. Children benefit from sharing ideas and learning from others ………..its amazing what they can come up with!

A child’s passion for photography is nurtured and advanced during this week session in photography. Explore lighting techniques, composition, camera controls, image creation, editing, digital techniques and much more. It is preferable for the child to bring their own camera or be prepared to buy one at the beginning of the course so they can become more familiar with its controls.
During the week a theme-based project will be encouraged and students will receive guidance on all stages of implementing such a photographic exercise from creating the concept to final production of the work. There is an image analysis section in the course, where images by famous photographers and the work by the students themselves are discussed during the class.
